HEALTHY GREEN SMOOTHIE GUIDE

Ingredients
  • The base in all smoothies:
  • 1 frozen banana
  • ⅓ cup frozen mango or pineapple (can be substituted with any fruit: apple, pear, melon, orange)
  • ½ small avocado
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • ⅓ cup water
  • Green smoothie 1, light-green/yellow smoothie:
  • Base
  • ¼ cup baby spinach leaves
  • Green smoothie 2:
  • Base
  • ¼ cup baby spinach leaves
  • ¼ cup kale leaves
  • Green smoothie 3:
  • Base
  • ⅓ cup baby spinach leaves
  • ⅓ cup kale leaves
  • ¼ cup fresh herbs (e.g.basil, mint). NOTE: fresh herbs like mint would work well in all the smoothies!
  • Green smoothie 4, the Super Green smoothie:
  • Base
  • ⅓ cup baby spinach leaves
  • ½ cup kale leaves
  • ¼ cup fresh herbs
  • ½ green apple
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or ⅛ whole piece of a medium organic lemon
  • 1 tsp spirulina or chlorella powder (optional)
  • 2 tsp or more chia seed or other protein powder of choice (optional)
Instructions
  1. Blend all ingredients.
  2. Enjoy!
Notes
If you are already used to green smoothies, you might want to substitute some of the fruits with vegetables! I recommend either frozen cauliflower or frozen zucchini as they have the mildest flavor. If you already love green smoothies, you might want to try adding some broccoli and/or celery, too :)
