WHIPPED COFFEE OVERNIGHT OATS

Facebook0Tweet0Pin0LinkedIn0Print0

Whipped coffee overnight oatsThis had to happen: whipped coffee overnight oats! You know the whipped instant coffee or dalgona coffee trend? As a big lover of coffee flavored oats I simply had to try the delicious dalgona coffee as a breakfast version and this is the dreamy result!

How to make whipped coffee?

Let’s star with the basics first. Whipped coffee is soooo easy to make! You need equal amounts of these 3 ingredients:

  1. sugar
  2. instant coffee
  3. hot water

Just start whipping these three together and see the magic happen: first it’s a brown liquid getting creamier and lighter as you continue whipping. In a few minutes you have a thick light brown or caramel colored cream which you can mix with either hot or cold plant-based milk. The cream is so stiff you get a cute little peak when you spoon it on top of the milk. Or overnight oats like I did here!

I couldn’t resist trying this trendy beverage as a breakfast version and I am so happy I tried. Overnight oats with coffee is like a yummy two-in-one dessert breakfast! Here’s how to make it:

Overnight oats for two

  • 1 cup plant-based milk (I recommend milk made for coffee such as creamy Barista oat milk)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 2 generous tbsp almond or cashew butter
  • 1,5 tbsp chia seeds (leave out if you don’t like the chia seed consistency)
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (or other sweetener of choice to taste)
  • pinch of salt
  • If you want to make mocha oats: add 1,5 tbsp cacao powder

Whipped coffee

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee
  • 1 tbsp hot water

Mix all overnight oats ingredients together. Let set for about 15 minutes or overnight if you have the time (and if you want your oats smoother).

For the whipped coffee whip sugar, instant coffee granules and hot water together with a whisk, aerolatte whisk or an electric hand mixer (cover the bowl before you start whisking).

When the oats have set for a while, swirl part of the whipped coffee with the oats and save some as a cute topping. Now you have delicious coffee overnight oats!

NOTE: if the coffee flavor is too strong, you can mix some vegan whipped cream with the oats too, so that you have a creamy dreamy coffee dessert.
